Joy – Part 1

Written by jiminica1 on January 10, 2014

Winter times, especially the Christmas and New Year holidays can cause havoc on emotions.  We as Christians being humans will experience all kinds of assaults, which may not make us happy, but we can have joy.  The scripture we will use comes from 1 Peter 1:6-9:

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen[a] you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. Continue reading

Intercession for a Nation – A Leader’s job

Written by jiminica1 on January 7, 2014

This is a writing I did a long ago for Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc,  of which I am a member. I wrote this piece, as in various organizations, I saw leadership complaining about their members, employees, families, etc.  We as leadership hold a hard role, to lead and represent, but to also be servants to those in our organizations.  We means we can be abused, misused, lied on and mistrusted; but we need to allow God in all circumstances deal with the people and allow integrity, meekness, and character through Christ to show. Power of Choice (Part 4) using the Parable of Soils

Written by jiminica1 on December 27, 2013

This study is taking longer than anticipated, as we can tell I’m a newbie at blogging.  For any experienced bloggers out there, I could use the tips on getting thoughts and studies from notes into a coherent document quickly.

Lets recap what we have learned before with this parable:

  1. Posting 1: We covered the back drop in which Jesus delivers the parable and the purpose of a parable.
  2. Posting 2: We covered why the Parable of Soils needed to be understood first, who is the sower,  how to scatter of seed, and expounded the first soil which is wayside.
  3. Posting 3: We covered the stony ground, its meaning and application to our lives. Continue reading

Power of Choice 3 (Part 3) using the Parable of Soils

Written by jiminica1 on December 18, 2013

Continuing on the study of the Parable of Soils, we have covered the following areas:

  1. Posting 1: We covered the background in the parable and the purpose of a parable.
  2. Posting 2: We covered why the Parable of Soils needed to be understood first, who are the sower and scattering of seed, and lastly the first soil

I could not believe how something as simple as this parable would take a life of its own.  I also take my hat off to all the other bloggers out there.  Placing one’s thoughts in a coherent and concise document is very difficult, well at least for me.  So on to the second soil. Continue reading

Power of Choice (Part 2) using the Parable of the Soils

Written by jiminica1 on December 13, 2013

This is a continuation of my study into the Parable of the Soils.   This study has taken me in various directions, as the Holy Spirit is continually revealing concepts in the parable for me to apply in my own life.  Hopefully, this writing will help you in yours.

In the last posting, I covered the background of the parable, and why Jesus’ spoke in parables.  I am endeavoring to be very careful to not interject ideas or theories that are not supported by scripture, so if one notices those areas let me know.  We will discuss the first soil and the importance of understanding this parable. The Power of Choice (Part 1) using the Parable of the Soils

Written by jiminica1 on December 10, 2013

This morning during my daily read through my Bible, I had a further understanding of choice. How powerful our free will can be.  I thought this would be a simple writing, but it seems I may have to break it up for ease of reading. Continue reading
